At the Wells-Humphries farm in O’Brien, FL. The address is 26208 228th St, O’Brien, FL. Please follow our wooden signs once you turn at the flashing lights in O’Brien, in order to minimize traffic through residential neighborhoods.
What is the weather like in O’Brien in February?
Temperatures in O’Brien in February can range from highs in the 90s to lows in the 20s. Come prepared for hot and cold weather and with sun protection as well as rain gear.
What is the event schedule?
Please see our Rhythm & Schedule page. Registration is open Tuesday from 2-8pm, Wednesday-Saturday 8am-8pm. Please arrive within these hours.
Do you provide meals?
Yes! We provide dinners from Wednesday evening to Saturday evening. There will be plain oatmeal and fruit served at the Community Hearth starting at 8:30am. Plan to be on your own for lunch and snacks. Bring your own bowl, spoon, and mug. Listen for the bell to signal dinnertime!
Do you have a youth program?
Yes! We offer youth programming during morning class periods, with different groups for different age ranges. See our Youth Program page for more info. This year, we will be providing classes geared toward youth during the afternoon class period, in response to feedback from kids and parents.
Do you have bathrooms and/or showers?
In accordance with Florida sanitation requirements, our gathering toilets are porta-potties with handwashing stations. We offer a refreshing cold shower experience in the Quiet Camping area. Swimming in nearby Little River Springs is also a popular way to wash off the day’s sweat!
Do all of the teachers on your list teach each day?
No, our instructors teach during various class periods and most offer classes on different subjects throughout the gathering.
Is the info posted somewhere how long each class lasts?
Most classes last 2.5 hours. Our Wednesday afternoon class period is 3 hours long. Multi-period and multi-day classes are offered for those subjects that require more time – take note of the class database or sign-up sheet, whether the class you’re interested in is a multi-part class!
Is it possible to car camp?
Yes! “Sky Camp” (AKA the parking lot, normally a pasture) is available for folks who prefer to camp in or near their vehicles. We have a limited number of RV/bus passes available for vehicles longer than 20 feet – look for these on the Registration page.
Are the weekends busier than the weekdays?
Yes – Friday and Saturday are usually the busiest days in camp.
What are the minimum age requirements for this?
There is no minimum (or maximum) age; we strive for an intergenerational experience! Some classes may require adult supervision – check the signup sheet to see age restrictions for each class. Be sure to register each child you’re bringing, even if they qualify for a free (under-5) ticket.
Do you have any worktrade positions available?
We have a limited number of worktrade positions at each event. Worktrade is an opportunity to contribute to the gathering in exchange for a ticket. For more info, click here.
Can I bring my pet dog?
No. Only ADA service animals are permitted. See our What to Bring page for more details.
What are some general hazards on the site?
Fire ants, mosquitoes, an alligator, a sinkhole, downed trees, bright sun, heavy rain! Check the info board and come to Morning Circle to hear from our Site Coordinator and First Aid team about up-to-date site conditions and guidelines for safety.
