The Kids Class Schedule is still growing. We have lots of great teachers coming back from last year and are looking forward to creating an awesome experience for all ages!

Adventure to a REAL TEEPEE at 3:00pm for Early Childhood

We will adventure to to Joan's Teepee and learn all about this kind of shelter!

This activity is for younger children that fall into the Early Childhood category.

Parents are welcome to join us on our adventure!

Connecting with Nature Game and Song circle with Scotty at 3:00 for Middle Childhood

Scotty is a Nature and Wilderness Connection Teacher.

He has a vast knowledge of skills and games in which he facilitates children to Connect to nature.

He has a few songs and games that he would like to Share with us!

Family Song and Music

Sing and Play Together. This is childrens'/family singalong to play, laugh, and get to know each other. We will be guided through interactive, easy-2-learn, and fun songs complete with dances and silliness. Bring your voice and an instrument if you'd like, and a song to share. Children, parents, and adults expressing their inner children welcome :-).

Nature Immersion Program

This program is held by Michael Ismerio. Michael works for the Forest Floor Wilderness Programs and he is an EXCELLENT Nature Connection Mentor and uses 8 Shields Mentoring Techniques and Coyote Mentoring Model to create an amazing experience for everyone involved in programs!

Micheal will lead the children in Gratitude and then safely away from youth village and away from the gathering to play games and connect with nature together.

Children can expect to learn a WIDE Variety of skills in this program including but not limited to Awareness Techniques and how to behave in the forest, Bird Language, Tracking, Camouflage, Ecology, Fire, Communication skills, sustainability, wild edible and medicinal plants and mushrooms, shelter building and Safety Skills.

"Free Range children" are expected to be involved in this program. (See the Free Range Agreement at youth village)

Thursday (2/8/2018) - Afternoon

CLAY PLAY at 3:00 pm on Thursday for Early and Middle Childhood

We will visit our neighborhood Potter Kieth to get our hands dirty and make something that we are proud of!

Children will be encouraged to create whatever they want including but not limited to a clay bowl that will be fired later in the week.

Children will learn about clay and be taught skills on how to make useful things. They will learn methods that people have used for centuries to create beautiful things.

Kieth will be available all week during class time for visits from children anytime they want to sit down and get hands in clay!

Skits, Acting and Movement Confidence Class with Chelsey 1:30PM for Early and Middle Childhood

This class will get youth into their bodies and help them feel comfortable and confident with their own most authentic movement!

We will cover dance movements, animal forms, costuming and painting, and begin work on a THEATRICAL production (Skit) held on Sunday at Morning Circle that the children will create together with the help of Staff.

This class is for all ages.

Everyone has autonomy for participation.
Expect body painting, dancing, roll playing and costumes! Your child will have the opportunity to help create
the skit and have a special role of their own on Sunday.
Bring your own costumes if desired.

This class continues Thursday, Friday and Saturday ending in a FIVE MIN SKIT on SUNDAY at MORNING CIRCLE.

Camouflage Tie Die Bandanna and Tee Shirts with Leigh-Ann at 1:30 on Friday for Early and Middle Childhood

In this class we will Tie-Die Tee Shirts and Bandannas with Natural colored dyes!

We will learn all about camouflage.

There are so many different forms of camouflage in the natural world, but how can we learn to camouflage our own bodies?

Children will make their own camouflage tee-shirt and bandanna to take home!

Children aged early and middle childhood that are able to do this craft are welcome to participate.

Parents are welcome to join their child in this craft!

Knife Safety and Whittling with Jeff Gottlieb at Instructor Camp 3:00PM for Middle Childhood

Jeff Gottlieb will provide age appropriate whittling knives.

He will be teaching Knife Safety and the children will get to whittle wood that Jeff will provide. They will make something that they can take home!

We will leave youth village as a group and adventure to Jeff's camp to do this activity.

Jeff knows so much about NATURE and he is so much fun! It is so exciting to get to hang with Jeff. I sure hope he tells us a story! He is so cool.

NOTE TO PARENTS- If you would like to join your child during this class and observe the "Knife Safety Techniques" that Jeff shares, to learn how to allow your child to use knives safely at home, or ask questions we do encourage you to join us at 3:00PM and attend this class with your child! You can learn to Whittle too!!

~Children will use sharp knives and learn Knife Safety in this class~

Knives similar to the ones the children will use will be available in the STORE FOR PURCHASE if your child would like to continue whittling!

4 ply cordage 3:00pm with Joan at her instructor camp for Early Childhood

Children will leave Youth Village as a group and adventure to see Joan at her Instructor camp! They will learn age appropriate cordage techniques!

The children will be able to take home what they have made!

Sunshine Dance Party 10:45 am on Saturday for Early Childhood

Our bodies love to move and it makes us so joyful to move in ways when we feel confident.

We are so grateful to have healthy bodies!

On this day we will celebrate and move however our bodies want to move!

Jeanine is a gymnastics teacher and specializes in Early Childhood Education.

We will act out stories with our puppets when we are done with our craft.
